Brand voice · Communication systems · Editorial strategy

Most brands don't have
a voice problem.
They have a consistency problem.

I build the communication systems that make every channel, every writer, and every AI tool sound like the same brand.

Differentiator Systems, not just content

The problem

Content gets made.
Coherence gets missed.

Most growing brands hire writers, brief agencies, and adopt AI tools — and then wonder why nothing sounds quite right. The Instagram feels different from the emails. The website doesn't match the packaging. Customer support sounds like a different company entirely.

The problem isn't the content. It's that there's no system underneath it. No shared definition of voice. No framework for how that voice changes across contexts. No way to brief a new hire, an agency, or an AI prompt and trust the output.

That's the gap I work in. Not creating more content — building the architecture that makes all the content coherent.

What I build

Three things. One outcome.

Every engagement produces something different, but it always serves one of three functions.

I

Voice

Defining exactly how your brand sounds — its personality, its tone spectrum, the words it uses and avoids. The decisions that make you recognisable.

II

Systems

Making that voice repeatable without the founder in the room. Brand guides, messaging architecture, AI prompt templates, editorial frameworks.

III

Signal

Ensuring the voice lands where it matters — across marketing, CX, operations, and AI-assisted workflows. Consistency at every touchpoint.

Diagnostic method

How I think through a brand.

The same five-step process, every engagement. Repeatable by design.

Step one Listen
I start with what customers actually say — reviews, support conversations, community language. Not what the brand thinks it sounds like. What the audience hears. Voice of Customer
Step two Map
Every touchpoint the brand communicates through — social, email, packaging, support, AI tools — mapped against each other. Where does the experience flow? Where does it fracture? Communication Audit
Step three Diagnose
Identifying the exact points where voice breaks down. Not "the tone is off" — but why, and which channels, and what's causing it at a structural level. Gap Analysis
Step four Rebuild
Defining the messaging architecture — personality, tone spectrum, channel-specific voice, word choices, AI prompt frameworks — from the ground up. Messaging Architecture
Step five Systemise
Turning the decisions into a system the team can use without me in the room. A living document, not a PDF that gets filed and forgotten. Brand Voice System
Live thinking

Diagnostics.

Short, sharp communication audits applying the five-step method to real brands. This is how I think — before the brief, before the retainer.

D2C Skincare Brand

Voice audit

Strong Instagram presence — warm, conversational, community-driven. Website copy switches to clinical and feature-led. Support replies read like a different company entirely. Three channels, three personalities.

→ Root cause: no shared voice brief. Each channel briefed separately. Fix: single-source tone guide with channel-specific volume controls.

Funded Fashion Startup

Consistency audit

Founder writes the Instagram. Agency writes the emails. New marketing hire writes the blog. Three writers with no shared reference point — and it shows. The brand's personality changes depending on who's at the keyboard.

→ Root cause: voice exists in the founder's head, nowhere else. Fix: extract, document, and distribute as a team-usable system.

E-commerce Brand (AI-assisted)

AI workflow audit

Team adopted AI tools for content at scale. Output increased. Quality dropped. Everything reads like it came from the same average — because without brand-specific prompts, it did.

→ Root cause: no AI prompt framework anchored to brand voice. Fix: build prompt templates trained on existing on-brand content, validated against voice guide.

that's the brief.
